Claimmyfare

Privacy policy

Last updated: September 2026

This page describes what Claimmyfare actually does today, in plain terms. It is a working draft and has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer — treat it as a transparent description of current practice, not a final legal document.

What Claimmyfare is

Claimmyfare Assist is a Chrome extension that reads your TfL journey history on a page you're already signed into, and a website (this one) where you can pay for a higher monthly allowance. This policy covers both.

What the extension does and doesn't do

The extension only reads content already displayed on the TfL page open in your browser, at the moment you click “Find refundable journeys.” It never logs into TfL on your behalf, never stores or transmits your TfL password, and never submits anything on TfL's site for you.

Journey details (station names, dates, times, fares) are read and processed entirely inside your own browser. They are never sent to Claimmyfare's servers.

What does leave your browser

Station names are sent to TfL's own public Journey Planner service, to look up the scheduled time for that route — the same public information TfL publishes for anyone planning a journey. This is a request to TfL, not to Claimmyfare.

If you're on a paid plan, the extension reports a running count of journeys checked and a total estimated refund value for this billing period, tied to your license key. It never reports which journeys these were, or any station name, date or time.

Account and payment data

If you upgrade to a paid plan, we collect the email address you provide, so we can send your license key and account confirmations. Payment details you enter are processed by our payment provider and are not stored by Claimmyfare.

How long we keep data

License and usage records are kept for as long as your subscription is active, plus a reasonable period afterwards for accounting purposes. You can ask us to delete your account data at any time — see “Your rights” below.

Cookies

See our separate Cookie policy for details on cookies used by this website.

Your rights

You can ask us what data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, at any time. Because the extension never sends us journey-level detail, there is very little to request in the first place — in most cases this will just be your email address and license usage totals.

Children

Claimmyfare is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date below and, for material changes, make that clear on this page.
